Finalists:
BahrainTalent has teamed up with the Bahrain International Circuit to bring our local artists an amazing opportunity! Last month we pushed the message out to our local artists who wanted to get their voice heard, to record a theme song for this years Bahrain F1 race. They come up with the music, the style, and the lyrics (based around this year's Bahrain race theme 'Where the Heart is'), and us along with BIC, would pick out the best of the submissions, and give you the chance to vote on the best of all!
The deadline for submissions was the 31st of March, and we received a large number of great submissions! We were planning on choosing the top 3, but we couldn't fix on just 3, so we chose the best 5 tracks and are giving you the chance to vote on the best! The winner gets their track professionally mixed and mastered in a state-of-the-art music production studio (sponsored by UrFilez), and get the chance to perform live during race day for thousands!
- Song Theme/Lyrics: Feel free to get creative. This year's race revolves around the theme "Where the Heart Is", so we're looking for that to be featured in your track. Take a look at the brief about this years race at the bottom of the page for more ideas of what to put into the song.
- Track Length: Up to you, but be reasonable; something between 3-5 minutes is usually about right.
- Track Quality: Doesn't need to be studio quality just yet! Remember, we will be going through your draft edits and mixes, and choosing a winner who we will put into a studio with professional sound engineers to make your track sound as good as it could ever be! As long as your track quality is clean, it's acceptable.
- Music Genre: Nothing specific; this could be anything from Rock to Hip Hop, to plain Laiwa or Latin Jazz. If you're very deep into a genre, it may be a good idea to commercialize your track a little more to achieve mainstream success, but again this is up to you.
- Submission Deadline: Tuesday 31st March
- Submission Format: Please save your track in MP3 format, and send it over to raceyourvoice@gmail.com. Please don't send any questions or inquiries; if you want to know anything, just drop us a comment below, and we'll get back to you.
Good Luck everyone!

how are the submissions so far?!?!?!
Pretty Good! We've gotten about 2 tracks in so far, 7 people who have confirmed they will be submitting tracks, and a few others who might be as well... Might make a compilation CD out of this! We've also got a few other surprises lined up, so if you haven't already started working on a track, trust us, you should be!
Good luck everyone!
hey, i am from the Bahrain Tribune. Saw this thing a bit too late to publish in the paper.
But I am interested in putting a story detailing the response to the competition.

Great effort guys and what a fantastic concept... Well done everyone involved.
But I'm surprised with the selection. There is only ONE song here that I could see performed at such a big stage and has international appeal.
Still, good work from all the musicians.
Beautiful work everyone!
My only comment is that all the songs are not culturally related and I don’t mean using the Arabic language in the lyrics, I think singing in English fits the purpose very much.
But I was hoping to hear some introduction of Arabic instruments or something similar to that. It was only Na Der who introduced beautiful Arabian percussion right after the chorus.
I seriously don’t think the winner should go to a world-class studio after that, those tracks were finely produced!
Yours,
Ala G.
There's a song that aspires to stadium-rock. Doesn't say much about F1, more about the aspirations of the composer, but it uses their strapline and it's something you can sing along too. "Wind in my hair" is a bit ironic if you know Na-der :)
The track that takes me to BIC and makes me see the cars screaming around the circuit, though, is Discal's amazingly slick DnB track. So polished, so good. It tastes of speed and control, dontcha think? You can imagine it working for the slo-mo re-runs too :)
I don't really buy the "culturally related" criticism. Wheeling in a bit of Arabian percussion and sticking it into a piece of music doesn't create the Arabian experience. It's something that non-Arab advertisers often try - which says a lot. And F1 is a global phenomenon - nothing particularly Arab about it.
If a song's what's needed, then Na-Der takes the prize, but for sheer musical accomplishment, then the Discal brothers have it, IMO.
I like DISCAL is original, los amigos sound very copy like from Celia Cruz(cubana) Good fortune for DISCAL
GOOD LUCK DISCAL VERY ORIGINAL
GOOD LUCK DISCAL VERY ORIGINAL
I am sorry I missed this! Will this contest happen again next year?
Great idea!
Do you have any prize of consolation for the Finalists songs, like tickets for f1, They also worked hard for this song .
