Axis of Evil - Bahrain Comedy

This Eid saw a first for Bahrain; Stand-Up Comedy! The island was treated to a nice little surprise as The Axis of Evil stopped by to perform in Bahrain, with a show that had everyone in tears! If you don't already know who the Axis of Evil are, they're a set of stand-up comedians from the United States who represent the Middle-East, and more especially the problems they've been facing after September 11th.

The event, titled Bahrain Comedy, was set up and organized by SJ Media on the 2nd & 3rd of October 2008; the Axis of Evil wasn't the only special part of the show, however. The act also introduced local talent; five comedians from Bahrain, unknown to most, but who had the crowd on their knees in laughter! Take a look at the photos from the show:

DJ Imran & Wadah practicing the day before the show

Salah Janahi, Abbas Kassem & Maz Jobrani checking everything before the show

DJ Outlaw warming up as the doors open..

And the crowds start to rush in!

And start filling out the seats...

The hall was so busy there were even a few kangaroos in the crowd...

Everybody settles in as the show is about to start....

AND it's on! DJ Imran surprises everyone with a perfect imitation of his Bahraani/Pakistani relatives and has people crying out in laughter!

It doesn't take long for people to start getting aggressive against him!

And our local acts hit the stage! Five local talents bringing the finest comedy to the crowds!

Each of the comedians made the crowds roar in their own way! And next comes... from the Axis of Evil... AHMAD AHMAAAAAD!!!

..with an amazing performance that had people cracking up and holding their stomachs... And after almost two hours of pure laughter came the one & only...

Maz JOBRAAANIIII!!! Persian, like the caaaaaaat!

So funny he almost ate the mic! The show lasted a good three hours and hardly gave people a chance to breathe! Roars of laughter and comedy, and the grand finale as the comedians took to the stage to welcome and thank everyone:

Overall, an amazing show that EVERYONE enjoyed, and definitely one to remember! Hopefully this should be the first of many more to come; stay tuned to Bahrain-Talent for info on future comedy shows on the island, and for upcoming features on our very own local brand of comedians!

Honest opinion and no BS??

Well the show was great. Salah and Abbas pulled off a great entertainer for the country and moreover the crowd was very cool. No weirdos at all!!!
Of course and Maz and Ahmed were brilliant although I had an equally great time watching the Pakistani guy. He really had us in splits.
The Saudi due with glasses was also a killer.
The only guy who needs to work on his act cuz he was seriously not funny is Waddah!!!
He was funny maybe in a day to day conversation basis but not funny for stand up comedy material. In case you guys didnt notice, the only person laughing at all his jokes most of the time was he himself!!!
The guy just did'nt have enough funny material in his story! Plain and Simple!
He has the voice of a comedian, the expressions of a comedian yet the punch line or lead up to the punch line simply wasnt there!!!
Sorry Waddah, i think you need to work a little bit harder to get up on stage. Otherwise your simply just spoiling the show!

Yousif Taha was really really talented. and Rahman tha Pakisani guy. I think other than Maz those 2 were the best

Great show guys. 2 ppl wern't that great in the show and i think they ruined it. Waddah might be funny as a person but he wasn't made to stand on stage. and Baraa also maybe coz he was nervous. other than that the rest were great
