Through the regular styles of music you hear played in Bahrain, it is always refreshing to find someone bringing something new. Cordoba Band was established in 2006, and they play a mix of flamenco fazz, latin jazz and gypsy music. Bringing a different sound to the Bahraini scene, Cordoba have been invited to play at many concerts, parties and small events around the island.

Cordoba is made up of Rashid Mattar (guitar), Ahmed Mohammed (drums), Ahmed Nasser (congo drums), Isa Shomeli (bass guitar) and Mohammed Alorayed (sound technician). Every season, the band invites a guest musician to add a new twist to their style; this could be a vocalist or another instrument player, but their concept of bringing in new guests means their style is always evolving and changing.

This is a video for one of their concerts performed a few months ago, or you can check out their YouTube Channel for more videos. We'll be posting up some of their tracks to stream and download in the next few days.
